The college, since its inception, has been a liberal Arts and Commerce College having 11 departments in all. The educational programme is so directed that the students may be inspired to grow with a strong sense of family, social and national responsibility.

Note: An applicant may apply for two or three courses only. A student who applies for more than three preferences is likely to be disqualified even if this is discovered at a later stage. Where MIL is offered please read Note A.

* Maths is compulsory at the plus two level for students to be eligible for admission.

** The English (Hons) course is both wide-ranging and intensive, requiring student to read authors who wrote form the 14th to the 20th Century.
    Only candidates who are genuiely interested in reading and who have a high level of competence in writing English and have analytical skills should
    consider this course.   

*** Once admission has been granted in Hindi(Hons) no change in course will be allowed both in the 1st and 2nd year.
