Scholarships, Prizes and Financial Assistance
The college offers various scholarships, prizes, student aid fund etc. The purpose is to encourage the bright students and the students less privileged.



I. Financial Assistance
1. Fee Concession:
  1. Students who are in need of financial assistance may apply on the prescribed form that is available at the accounts office. The completed form must reach the cashier by 14th august.
  2. Until the fee concession is sanctioned all fees must be paid by the student. A refund of payments made at the beginning of the year may be subsequently claimed, if the concession is sanctioned.
2. Student's Aid Fund:

Students may also avail themselves of financial assistance offered by the student's aid fund. Applications for it must be made on the prescribed form and must reach the cashier by 30th August.

Note: Fee concession and assistance from the students aid fund are not tenable by students repeating a class, if their failure has been due to neglect of work or irregular attendance.

II. Book Bank Scheme

A book bank scheme is in operation for needy students. The application form in this respect is available from the Librarian.

III. Scholarship, Prizes
  1. The All India Oriental Bank Officer's Association Scholarship Awarded In Memory Of The Late Miss Geeta Chopra of Rs. 250 per annum awarded to the best JMC Student of IInd year B.Com (Pass) class. The student will be selected by the Staff Council of the College.
  2. The Geeta Chopra Memorial Scholarship: five scholarships each of Rs. 600 awarded to five students selected by the Staff Council of the College.
  3. The V. Sankar Aiyar Memorial Scholarship: awarded to the student who comes first in the college in the B.Com (Pass) degree examination, and who takes up the Chartered Accountancy course. The value of the scholarship will enable the student to pay the coaching and board fees to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, in which fees is received annually in two installments. The first installment of the scholarship, i.e. Rs. 350 will be paid on receipt of the application made by the student. The second installment will be paid if the student passes the Inter Examination of the Institute at the first attempt.
  4. The Sankar Aiyar Memorial Prize For Commerce Students: of Rs. 100 awarded to the student standing first in the B.Com (Pass) examination. Rs. 100 awarded to the student standing first in the B.Com (Hons.) Examination.
  5. The M. Sethuraman Memorial Scholarship: of Rs. 500 awarded to the student who obtains the highest marks in the college in the IInd year Psychology Honours examination of the University of Delhi.
  6. The Savitri Devi Memorial Prize: of Rs. 250 for the IIIrd year Psychology Honours student, who secures the highest marks in the Industrial Psychology paper, amongst those who have Ist Division. If there is a tie, they will share it.
  7. The Muriel Wasi Prize For Excellence In English: A prize of Rs. 150 annually to the student in the IIIrd year English Honours class who secures first division at the final B.A. (Hons.) examination of the Delhi University, and stands first in the college.
  8. The Tessa D'souza Scholarship: of Rs. 480 for a deserving IIIrd year Catholic student, preferably studying French.
  9. The Claudine Thevenet Scholarship: of Rs. 600 for a deserving Christain, IInd year student.
  10. The Gerald Baltazar Rodrigues Scholarship: of Rs. 500 for a deserving Christian student of 1st year, selected by the principal of the college
  11. The Lisa Radhika Kaul Prize: of Rs. 500 for a deserving student of the Sociology department.
  12. The Lirio Lopex Prize: of Rs. 300 awarded to the student who is outstanding in extra-curricular activities in her college career. The prize may be shared between two or more students if necessary
  13. The Maria Philp Scholarship: of Rs. 1000 for a IIIrd year student who scores among the first ten in the Ist and IInd year aggregate and in the internal examination; who participated in and organised activities, was regular in attendance, and whose conduct was good.
  14. The Sr. Felix Memorial Prize: of Rs. 500 awarded to the student who secures the first position in B.A. degree examination, Jesus and Mary College Teaching Centre, Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board, University of Delhi. If two or more students secure identical marks the prize will be divided equally between them.
  15. The Sr. Felix Memorial Prize: of Rs. 500 awarded to the student who secures the first Position in B.Com degree examination, Jesus & Mary College Teaching Centre, Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board, University of Delhi. If two or more students secure identical marks the prize will be divided equally between them.
  16. The P.T.S.A. Prize: of Rs. 1000 approximately to be awarded annually to the student(s) who obtain(s) first university rank(s) in the B.A. /B.Com. degree examination in any of the courses offered by the college. The candidates must also have obtained a first division(s). If two or more students qualify for the award the amount is shared and augmented, if necessary, so that each student receives at least Rs. 500. The award is given in kind according to the desire of the awardee.
  17. The P.T.S.A. Prize: of Rs. 300 to each student securing the highest marks in each course offered in the College in the B.A. / B.Com. degree examination provided that she:
    (i) obtains an overall first division
    (ii) has completed her graduation within the minimum span of three years.
    If two or more students secure identical marks in any one course, the award is shared and augmented if necessary, so that each student receives at least Rs. 150. The prize is awarded in cash.
  18. The Miss Jayati Deshmukh Prize: of Rs. 900 for the student who stands first in the B.Com (Hons.) First Year.
  19. The Miss Jayati Deshmukh Prize: of Rs. 900 for the student who stands first in B.Com (Hons.) Second year.
  20. The Brig. N.K. Mayne Memorial Scholarship: of Rs. 1000 for a truly deserving student of IIIrd year B.Com (Pass) on the basis of her average performance in the 1st and IInd Year, at the discretion of the scholarship committee. This scholarship is for her books and fees of the IIIrd year.
  21. The Smt. Kamalakshi Memorial Scholarship: of Rs. 100/- awarded to the best among B.A. (Pass) Ist year SC/ST student who
    (i) attends at least 75-80% of tutorials and preceptorial (discussions & written) and secures at least 45% marks in the internal assessment, and
    (ii) secures at least 45% marks in the mid-term examination.
    The scholarship is to be awarded in the form of a book grant for book(s) relevant for study.
  22. The Smita Vats Prize: of Rs. 100 for daughters of class 'D' employees.
  23. The Manisha Marwah Prize: of 100 for daughters of class 'D' employees.
  24. The Kesar Memorial Prize: of Rs. 600 awarded to the best deserving student of Philosophy to be chosen by the Department of Philosophy, J.M.C. This prize is to be awarded along with the P.T.S.A. annual awards.
  25. The Sultan Chand Memorial Scholarship: of Rs. 250 per month tenable for one year, to be awarded to a student of B.Com (Hons.) second year who secures the highest percentage of marks, being above 70% in J.M.C. in B.Com. (Hons.) first year. In case a student accepts any other scholarship or financial assistance from any other source, she will not be eligible for this scholarship.
  26. Shri Jugal Kishore Khanna Memorial Scholarship: of Rs. 300 awarded to a deserving Catholic student of B.A. (Pass) first year.
  27. Anupama Nair Memorial Scholarship: of Rs. 1000 to a student of English (Hons) for academic excellence combined with extra-curricular activities especially creative writing.
  28. Smt. Sushila Pahwa Scholarship: for two needy students to be given Rs. 3000/- each.
  29. Shri Sunder Singh Memorial Scholarship: of Rs. 1000/- each for a child of a grade IV employee & a poor student.
  30. The Mary Abraham Scholarship: of Rs. 350/- to a student of B.EI.Ed for academic excellence.
  31. Sunit Saral Award: Amount Rs. 600/- each for best students of IInd & IIIrd year Psychology department.
  32. Kamla Anand Award & Vimal Kohli Memorial Scholarship: for a deserving commerce student, Rs. 500 (each) every year.
  33. P.C.PANDEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP : of Rs. 900/- for daughter of Non-Teaching staff studying in JMC.
